As a 52-year-old, Phil Mickelson would have expected to slip down golf’s rankings, but his fall has been astonishing.
Due to the fact that he won the 2021 PGA Championship, he was clearly still one of the best in the world just last year.
In spite of his recent victory, Mickelson now sits in 213th place in the rankings.
He hasn’t been outside of the top 200 since the end of July 1992.
Before his 2021 PGA Championship victory, he hadn’t even been outside the top 100 since 1993. Now, not long after that success, he has plummeted back down to the bottom of the rankings.
