Kyle Busch was detained in Mexico while traveling to the Caribbean with a handgun

While on vacation in the Mexican Caribbean, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch forgot that he had a gun in his luggage, and although he had a concealed weapons permit with him, he was arrested.

According to the 37-year-old driver, he forgot his gun while he and his wife Samantha were in Cancun, Mexico in late January.

In Mexico, carrying a gun is illegal, even if you know how to use it and have a permit for it. Kyle had to deal with Mexican authorities who understood his situation and detained him.

“I wasn’t aware of Mexican law and had no intention of bringing a handgun into Mexico,” Kyle said on social media on Monday.

As soon as it was discovered, I cooperated fully with the authorities, accepted the penalties, and returned to North Carolina.”

According to Quintana Roo prosecutors, Kyle Thomas “B” was found to be fully responsible for carrying a firearm without a license and possessing cartridges for military use only.

His accomplishments include winning 22 NASCAR races and 60 Cup Series races for the Richard Childress Racing team.

Having apologized for my mistake and appreciated the respect shown by all parties, Busch concluded, “My family and I consider this matter resolved.”

Busch finished third in the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum in Los Angeles.
