I don’t know when I’ll play again, so I can’t confirm I’ll play in Monte Carlo
On Monday afternoon, Rafael Nadal arrived in Palma de Mallorca for an event related to his foundation.
The tennis star, who was confirmed by the tournament’s social media channels last week as participating in the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 (April 9-16), was unable to confirm his attendance.
“I’m following my course and I don’t know when I’ll play again, that’s the truth. Currently, I’m in a phase of increasing work. If I knew when I would return, I would tell you, but I don’t.” says the Spaniard.
It is too early to confirm that I will play in Monte Carlo, things are changing rapidly. I prefer to make statements when I am sure of them.”
Nadal must consider the possibility of playing six matches in succession if he confirms his participation in the tournament.
As he is not one of the top eight seeds, he will not be exempt from the first round.
